Gold Hen Seafood Chowder with Crab and Shrimp
Ingredients
4 tbsp unsalted butter
1 cup yellow onion, finely chopped
3 tbsp all-purpose flour
1 tbsp Old Bay seasoning
¼ tsp salt
¼ tsp black pepp. half
1 ½ cups heavy cream
1 cup Gold Hen Bloody Mary Mix
2 tbsp dry sherry
1 lb crab meat, lump or claw
½ lb cooked shrimp
Instructions
Melt butter in large pot over medium/low heat. Add onion and cook until softened.
Add flour and whisk until absorbed in butter. Add the Old Bay, salt, and pepper and continue to whisk for 90 seconds.
Slowly whisk in half and half and bring to a simmer, stirring frequently until mixture begins to thicken.
Slowly stir in heavy cream, Gold Hen, and dry sherry. Add the crab meat and shrimp and continue to stir gently so that the crab doesn’t break up too much. Cook for additional 5 to 10 minutes and garnish when finished.
